CoolSculpting is a non-invasive body contouring procedure that uses controlled cooling to freeze and eliminate stubborn pockets of fat. It was developed by Harvard scientists and is FDA-cleared for treating visible fat bulges in the abdomen, thighs, arms, and other areas of the body. Inspire Body Contouring offers a streamlined CoolSculpting experience, guiding you toward your ideal body.

Step 1: Preparation

CoolSculpting involves minimal preparatory guidelines. You should eat a light meal and avoid drinking caffeinated beverages before the appointment. Since the treatment will involve using an applicator on various parts of your body, you should wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothes. Please feel free to bring books, headphones, iPads, or other sources of entertainment or distraction to occupy your time during the treatment. You should also bring a list of all ongoing and previous medications.

Step 2: Consultation

Before your CoolSculpting treatment, you will have a consultation with a trained provider to discuss your goals and determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. You should come to the consultation with a list of medications you are taking and any questions you may have about the procedure. Please be honest with your provider about your medical history, as certain health conditions can affect your candidacy for the procedure.

During the consultation, your CoolSculpting provider will assess your candidacy by examining the areas you wish to treat and determining the amount of fat present. They will discuss your goals, answer your questions, and determine if you’re a better candidate for CoolSculpting or CoolSculpting Elite. Each CoolSculpting session can only target up to 25% of excess fat in an area, so our providers will recommend the optimal treatment frequency.

Step 3: Treatment

During CoolSculpting, your provider will apply a gel pad and applicator to the targeted area. The applicator will suction your skin and fat, cooling the fat cells to the point of destruction. The treatment takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the treatment area. You may feel a pulling sensation, but the discomfort is minimal. Some patients also experience a tingling sensation or numbness, but these sensations go away within a few hours.

Step 4: Aftercare

After CoolSculpting, you can return to your normal activities immediately. You may experience some redness, swelling, or tenderness in the treated area, but these side effects are typically mild and resolve on their own within a few days. Please follow your provider’s aftercare instructions to ensure the best possible results. This may include wearing compression garments, avoiding certain activities or substances, and taking care of the treated area.

Step 5: Follow-Up

The results of CoolSculpting are not immediate and may take several weeks or months to appear. Most people need multiple treatments to achieve their desired results. The number of treatments needed varies from person to person and depends on the amount of fat being treated. Your provider will recommend a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. Most individuals need approximately 3 CoolSculpting sessions spaced a few weeks apart.
